Why Lost Island Press?
Escape the scroll.
You deserve a break from digital fatigue. With the right story, you can reclaim your free time and get lost in a page, not a feed.
Skip the guesswork.
No need to waste time sorting through endless recommendations. If you like one of our books, you’ll like them all.
Enjoy community-crafted stories.
We don’t publish what we think you’ll love. Our stories are tested and refined with feedback from readers like you, not just internal editors.
Read without waste.
10 million trees are wasted each year on overprinted books. We print in small batches or on demand so no copy goes to waste.
Big presses publish for everyone.
Lost Island Press publishes for you.
Our dystopian, sci-fi, and fantasy books offer grounded, character-driven stories that linger long after the last page.
And because our books have the same vibe, if you enjoy one, you’ll enjoy them all.

Hi, I’m Mel Torrefranca.
My boat crashed onto this island in 2020, and I’ve been publishing books ever since.
I founded Lost Island Press to share stories I love and to connect with readers who love them too. Every publication is either one I wrote myself or selected according to the tastes of our community.
When I’m not filming YouTube videos or drinking one too many lattes, you’ll find me immersed in the world of storytelling and publishing. My passion for writing began at age seven and led me to launch my debut novel, Leaving Wishville, as a high schooler.
Thanks for joining us at Lost Island. We’re not sure how you got here—but we’re keeping you now.
