Every paperback plants a tree.
When you buy a physical book on our website, GoodAPI plants a tree in Kilifi, Kenya.
Meet our partner, GoodAPI.
It’s easy to forget that every printed book we own was once a tree. That’s why, for each paperback sold, we plant a new tree to honor the one that made your copy.
We’ve partnered with GoodAPI to make this possible. Their amazing team helps us aid reforestation efforts along the Kenyan coast.
In recent decades, rapid urbanization has destroyed large stretches of mangrove forests in Kilifi. Many animals have lost critical habitats, and many people have lost jobs or access to food that these forests previously provided.
Mangrove reforestation not only helps restore the environment but also provides employment opportunities to locals at fair wages.
We love the idea of giving back a little of what our books take from the world.
As an avid reader, I am excited that Lost Island publishes stories worth telling, not just selling. I am also proud that GoodAPI partners with them on their “buy a paperback, plant a tree” initiative. So while you get lost in their stories, the team at GoodAPI is growing forests you’ll get lost wandering in one day.
